The British government will introduce a ban on social media access for all users under 16 years of age, set to take effect in 2027. UK prime minister Keir Starmer announced the plans on Monday, calling the move “the right step for Britain” and the best way to keep children safe online.
I really don’t believe these bans are going to work. The kids are definitely going to be making workarounds faster than the supposed adults in the room will block. All this does is give bad parents yet another excuse to be even more flippant in their duties as parents. They can claim that it’s the government’s job to protect their kids, and not them.
